The La Manga Club Junior Football Academy prepares children of all levels and ages with FA/UEFA qualified coaches. Our academy is taught entirely in English and is organised by level and age, from under 6 to 16.

La Manga Club Football Academy Programme

Football Academy

From 6 to 9 years
10:00-11:30 am

These sessions encompass a series of activities in which the player is in continuous contact with the ball. Various methods are used to improve their individual skills and techniques: touch and control of the ball, passing, dribbling/running with the ball, techniques for kicking the ball, small sided games (SSG), etc. The sessions last 1 hour and 30 minutes. The first hour is spent working on different techniques, which change every day, and the remaining 30 minutes is spent playing a friendly match.

Football Academy

From 10 to 12 years
4:00-5:30 pm

The sessions for this age group are more challenging, both in terms of general skill development and understanding of the game. Matches are presented in different formats in the different sessions. Players work both individually and as a team. As a result, the players are more aware of their participation and responsibilities within the team, while the focus is on improving their skills and their overall view of the game. These sessions last 1 hour and 30 minutes. The first hour is used to improve players’ skills and overall team vision in games with few players, while the last 30 minutes are used for free play. Techniques are changed daily.

Football Academy

From 13 to 16 years
4:00-5:30 pm

This programme includes much more structured sessions involving team play, functional activities (covering attacking and defensive situations), positional play (in and out of possession) and small side matches, from 1 on 1 to 9 per team. Our academy also focuses on many of the aspects involved when players work within ‘units’ or ‘lines’, as well as the overall framework of a team. These sessions last 1 hour and 30 minutes. The activities mentioned above take place in the first hour, and the last 30 minutes are used for free play.

Physical Conditioning Sessions

From 10 to 16 years
10:00-11:00 am

The physical conditioning programme focuses on footwork, speed, acceleration, agility, basic conditioning exercises, short, intense work in confined spaces, etc., and part of the programme involves working with the ball. The programme does not include long runs or the use of weights as we believe this can be done individually outside of the academy if players wish.

Goalkeeper Academy

From 10 to 16 years
4:00-5:30 pm

This programme is available during the 8 weeks of the Football Academies. It includes a specific 45-minute technical session covering the technical areas of goalkeeping and improving individual skills, as well as a further 45-minute session small sided games (SSG) and match play situations. The technical activities cover several skills that every goalkeeper should know. This includes basic goal handling, foot movement, coordination exercises, simple blocking and punting tasks, centres, 1-on-1 situations, ball control with the feet, kicking in dead-ball situations and offside. These exercises are intended to improve the level of play through a brief and intensive approach.

World Cups & Mini World Cups

5:45-7:00 pm
Mini World Cup: from 7 to 11 years
World Cup: from 12 to 16 years

Our World Cup tournaments are one of our favourite activities. Every afternoon, coaches become referees and allow players to put their skills into practice in a competitive and safe environment. Depending on the number of participants, our staff organise a tournament in which each team represents a country and plays several games over the course of an hour. The minimum number of players required per age group is 10 (5 vs 5).

Subject to availability. Book directly with the coach.

Private Lessons

From 10 to 18 years
Subject to availability

Private lessons are one-on-one sessions with one of our professional trainers. Our coaching team will create a 1-hour individual session based on the player’s needs and requests. These sessions are position-specific and require a high level of technique and fitness.
