Mountain Biking
Cycling is one of the healthiest and most exciting ways to discover the resort and its surroundings, from the green golf courses to the stunning cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean. The terrain varies from fairly easy roads with some hills within La Manga Club or the miles of flat, easy routes around the Mar Menor, to challenging off-road routes and some serious gradients in the hills surrounding the resort.
Biking La Manga offers a great selection of the latest generation of mountain bikes for all levels of experience, as well as road bikes, which are great for visiting nearby villages or beaches. Bikes can be hired for as little as one day to as long as a week or more. Helmets, locks and maps are all provided.
The younger members of the family need not be left behind, as there are also junior bikes for all ages, with or without stabilisers. For toddlers aged 18 months and over,a child trailer or seat can be attached to an adult's bike, so they need not miss out on the family excursion. Similarly, for those aged six and over who are determined to keep up with mum and dad, trailer bikes provide the ideal solution.
Alternatively, you could join one of the guided cycle tours, which include an easy ride for all the family over flat terrain to the village of Los Belones or a more challenging ride for more experienced cyclists, either to the Portman Artillery Battery or Calblanque Natural Park.
For more serious cyclists or triathletes, there is plenty of good road cycling territory as well as routes for running and a 25-metre indoor pool for lap training,or the Mar Menor for open water swimming.
Whatever your ability, whatever your level of fitness, whatever your age, cycling is one of the most enjoyable activities which, thanks to the mild, Costa Cálida climate, can be enjoyed at any time of year.
Biking La Manga is an independent company and is not managed by La Manga Club.
